5 Axes Head-Head (HH)

In these machines, both rotary axes are located on the spindle, and the table does not rotate. As a consequence, the part (and procedure origin UCS) does not rotate either.

One axis is mounted on top of the other. The "base" axis, mounted on the machine, is called the primary (alpha) axis, and the second axis, mounted on the first one, is called the secondary (beta) axis.

The following diagrams illustrate several head-head machines. The alpha axis is shown in green, whereas the beta axis is shown in blue.
