Circular Motion
GPP2 can handle circular motions at any plane, both perpendicular to the tool axis or in the same plane as the tool axis.
Most of the circular motion blocks generated in Cimatron are simple horizontal arcs, where the arc takes place in the procedure XY plane. However, each procedure may have its own rotated origin UCS, and these simple XY arcs may turn out to be in any plane (compared to the REF UCS).
GPP2 handles a circular motion in one of three ways:
-
Present it as is to the EX2 program, for output.
-
Break it into multiple quadrant-limited arcs, where each arc is limited to one quadrant of the arc plane.
-
Break it into multiple linear motions, approximating the arc in a given tolerance.
