Create complex conformal cooling channels.
The system supports mixed/hybrid manufacturing environments with subtractive and additive solutions. A mix of both traditional and conformal cooling capabilities enables efficient design, resulting in shorter injection cycle time and better parts quality due to reduced warpage.

Conformal cooling channels |
The following methods are available for creating the conformal cooling channels:
Dynamically create the spine along which the cooling line body is created. In this mode, you create a polyline (chain of lines) by selecting points.

A cooling curve is dynamically created between the points |
Contours may be selected as input for the channel spine. This means you can design your channel with any wireframe tool (for example, the Automatic Conformal Cooling function) and then use it within the Conformal Cooling design function.

General Interaction
The following is the Feature Guide for Conformal Cooling.
|
|
Required Step 1 : Define the cooling channel.
Optional Step 1 : Perform an overhang analysis to ensure no internal areas within the cooling channels will fail during printing.
Optional Step 2 : Perform a distance analysis and optimization to identify areas where the channels may be too close to, or too far from, the walls of the insert and adjust them automatically.
Optional Step 3 : Control the slope direction of the curve at the start and end points. Use this option to optimize curvature to improve channel paths near areas where the pipe cannot be created by clicking on the red curves/red points indicated on the conformal cooling channels.
