Hole Dimension - Depth Information Segment

Hole information displayed on a label is segmented into Diameter and Depth information. The order in which this data is presented depends on the drafting standard used for the drawing:

Standard

Description

ANSI or JIS

  • The hole segments are listed in decreasing depth.

  • A thread is listed after the tap drill.

ISO

  • The hole segments are listed in ascending depth.

  • A thread is listed before the tap drill.

The individual fields in the segment are described below.

Segment information

Description

Prefix

The dropdown options are Drill and x.

  • If the selected standard is ANSI or JIS, this field will default to display X
  • For ISO, the field defaults to blank.

Symbol

The dropdown displays a special symbol representing the following:

Depth

Default setting for ANSI and JIS

Depth

Enter a value for the diameter of the hole - Any value set for the Manufacturing Attributes category Depth Tolerance will be applied to the label after the Depth value (this is not visible in the Hole Dimension dialog).

Precision

Configure the mathematical precision setting used on the label. The system will apply the decimal precision specified in Manufacturing Attributes (if it is set) to values it obtains from the drawing. Manually edited values do not apply this setting.

Postfix

The dropdown options are: THRU, Through, U, W, V
