PFM Export

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

  • Click the icon from the toolbar.

  • Select File > Export > Export or Export by Pick from the menu bar.

From the Export dialog, select PFM from the Files of Type field.

Convert (export) Cimatron files into PFM files (the native Cimatron IT format).

InvokeInvoke (for more, click Access at the top of this Help topic) this data interface operation. To export to a PFM file, follow the general export interaction. The parameters specific to this operation are shown below (these are displayed when the Expand button is pressed in the Export dialog).

Cimatron retains the settings of the data interface (Import/Export) dialog from its last use, including the menu state (expanded or collapsed) and the tab that was opened.

Note: To define default settings for the Advanced parameters, use the Data Interface Preferences. Click the Preferences  icon (at the top right of the Export dialog) to open the Preferences Editor and go to General > Data Interface.

Export Modeling

The two tabs, General and Parameters, are described in this section.

General tab

This tab displays general file conversion parameters.

Note:  Click the Expand button  at the bottom of the Export dialog to reveal these parameters.

Parameters tab

This tab displays parameters specifically for exporting Cimatron files into PFM files.

Notes:

  • Cimatron 2.1 part files exported as PFM can only be read by Cimatron IT version 11.

  • Cimatron 3 part files exported as PFM can only be read by Cimatron IT version 12.

  • Cimatron 4 (or later) part files can be exported to any version of PFM by using the parameter Save PFM version.

  • Files exported from Cimatron do not include NC data. To transfer NC information to the Cimatron IT format, use NC templates. These are external files that can be recognized by Cimatron and Cimatron IT.

To export a file, follow the general export interaction.
