Action: Set Variables

The Set Variables actions enable you to store some measured values in the machine parameters, to be used later on along the program run. The Set Variables dialog is displayed:

Param. #

The checkboxes set which value to store into the Param.# field.

Whatever is entered in the Param.# fields varies between different controls. It is advisable to consult with the post developer and decide upon agreed entries.

Note:

  • The dialog content depends on the selected measurement cycle. Some cycles return coordinates, some return numerical values (scalars) and some return both; see below for examples. While the dialogs may differ, the operation logic remains the same.

  • The dialog for cycles that return one coordinate and one scalar value (Diameter) is displayed on the left. These cycles are Hole, Boss, Slot Width, Ridge Width.

Example Set Variables dialog:

Cycles that return coordinates only (Position, Corner and 4 Holes):

Cycles that return one scalar value (Angle):

Cycles that return one coordinate and two scalar values (Rectangle In, Rectangle Out):

Cycles that return two coordinate and three scalar values (Two Holes):

Cycles that return three coordinate values (Plane):
