True Spiral

Create a true spiral toolpath.
The difference between True Spiral and Spiral toolpaths, is the connection between the offsets.
A Spiral toolpath has an S connection between the offsets.
A True Spiral toolpath does not have any connection between the offsets, as a true spiral is created. A True Spiral toolpath decreases milling time.

True Spiral

Spiral

True Spiral works only when the Cut Direction mills Outside In or Inside Out and not as Stock Spiral.

In every area where milling is possible, the milling process will be a True Spiral.

In True Spiral milling the extreme internal and external offsets are closed, as shown above.

If, within a parent True Spiral process, there are child True Spiral processes, each True Spiral process is separate - they are not connected (with True Spiral connection).

In places where True Spiral milling cannot take place, the connection between the offsets will be with an S connection.
