Hit Horizontal Planes |
Mill layers immediately above horizontal planar faces. An additional "pencil-like" motion is added above the planar faces. This parameter is available for Z level machining methods such as layers or helical. Since the horizontal areas of the part may not be quite at the same depth as the cutting layers, extra stock may be left behind. This parameter adds an extra pass into the toolpath for each flat area identified and ensures the part is completely machined in one procedure. This parameter is displayed in Finish Mill All and Finish By Limit Angle, whenever finish vertical milling is defined (when the Fixed or Variable Vertical Step parameters are set). By default, this parameter is unchecked. Note: The additional pass is not performed if the vertical distance between the "pencil" layer and an existing layer is smaller than 2*procedure tolerance. |
