Die Preferences > Force Calculation > Trimming Operation
Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:

Select the Preferences button
from the Quick Access Toolbar, or -
Select Tools > Main Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.
Navigate to Die > Force Calculation > Trimming Operation.
Define the Trimming operation factors for the calculation of forces.
This will affect the result of Die Forces and enables you to have more control over them.
Force Calculation: The force calculation employed depends on the type of operation being calculated. For additional information and to define some of the values used in force calculations, see the Die Force Calculation Preferences.
The Trimming Operation dialog is displayed.
Interaction

Set the required Trimming Operation parameter.
The force value is calculate according to the formula:
F = C x L x t x σUTS

L= Trimming area perimeter
-
t = Stock thickness
-
C = Correction factor
-
σUTS = Ultimate tensile strength
-
Set the C value.
-
Press the appropriate approval option.
