Hole and Sequence Library
The Hole and Sequence Library consists of a master ELT file and a set of approximately 150 sequences suggested for handling the holes in the ELT file.
A Hole Sequence is a set of faces describing a hole.
The default sequence library is located in the following folder:
...\ProgramData\Cimatron\Cimatron\2026.0\Data\Sequences
This library is also used in the CAD Mold Design environment when Validating Holes.
This library serves as the basis for you to create your own sequence library. These files may be changed with future new versions, so do not save your changes with the same file names. The files can be copied to a different work folder.
The ELT file contains a rich tool library, holes to be drilled and sequences to drill these holes (from which the sequences were saved). This ELT file can be used as a master to which additional tools, holes and sequences can be added. This is important since the editing of a sequence cannot be done directly.
The tool library that was defined includes the default feed, spin and coolant. To optimize use, it is important to use one of these tools, or if the appropriate tool does not exist, to create a new tool with the appropriate machine parameters.
Each row contains a type of hole of varying diameters. Typical holes are included here, however this varies from customer to customer. The description of the group can be seen on the left side. Attributes (threads and accuracy) were widely used.
To increase the success rate of the attachment mechanism, most of the constraints are marked as N/A; for example:
This means that all blind holes composed of a cylinder with the H6 attribute and a conic bottom will be allowed to use this sequence. This of course could be split into deep holes and shallow ones by putting a range to A Height and resaving it with the applicable technological data (such as a longer tool to be used, different cycle and so on).
Note that the last (10th) row represents holes for ejector pins including an accurate portion handled from both sides (counter drill from one side and drill + ream from the other side).
