What is an Offload Calculation Server?
|
The Offload Calculation Server (also known as SuperBox) enables the automatic offloading of NC toolpath calculation tasks from all Cimatron seats in a network, thereby freeing up resources of individual work stations. The calculations may also be accelerated, depending on the hardware of the individual work stations. The types of calculations that are offloaded are as follows:
Calculation tasks are offloaded to the computer where the Offload Calculation Server is installed, allowing users to perform other tasks on their individual computers without any delays. The Offload Calculation Server cannot be installed on a computer where Cimatron is installed, and vice versa. The Offload Calculation Server requires a network connection (a dynamic IP using the router DHCP mechanism) and is immediately recognized by Cimatron seats. The user continues to work on the current project or a new one, but the procedure is offloaded to the Offload Calculation Server, thereby freeing up resources of individual work stations. |
Multiple Offload Calculation Servers can be used to support more users and heavier work load.
The Offload Calculation Server accelerates your shop’s work by:
-
Offloading most of the calculation tasks from your computer to allow it to respond quickly
-
Serving several programmers at the same time
-
Executing multiple concurrent calculations.
-
Using better calculation resources than the average client computer.
