UCS Rotating the Axes

Optional Step 1

To rotate the axes of the created UCS, click the appropriate Optional Step button. The UCS will be created according to the defined rotation angles.

The following parameters are displayed:

CS Rotation

This is a toggle option CS Rotation / None.
The CS Rotation option shows the XYZ rotation parameters.
The None option hides the parameters and exits the optional step.

X Axis

Enter the required rotation values in the appropriate order.

Notes:

  • The order of rotation is important (90 around Y first and 90 around X second is different from 90 around X first and 90 around Y second).

  • When resetting an axis (to zero), all dependent axes (rotation axes defined after this axis) will also be reset.

See the rotation examples below.

Y Axis

Z Axis

Rotation Examples:

Set the first axis rotation value.

Set the subsequent axis rotation values in the appropriate order. The order of rotation is important (90 around Y first and 90 around X second is different from 90 around X first and 90 around Y second).

When resetting an axis (to zero), all dependent axes (rotation axes defined after this axis) will also be reset.

In this example, the 2nd rotation axis (X) was reset to 0, which means that the dependent 3rd axis (Z) is also reset to 0.
