Volume and mass of open objects 

Part attributes of Volume and Mass can now be approximated for open objects. The information tool will attempt to close gaps and cover openings to provide the most accurate data on unclosed solids.

The values for open objects will always be shown in red and use the approximation sign (≈), to indicate that the calculation is an approximation based on the known geometry.

When an open object factors into the total of other objects or an assembly, the total values will also be shown in red with the approximation sign.

The information tool can now approximate volume and mass on an open solid object.

Part Volume and Mass improvements

The Analysis > Tools > Information function is capable of measuring an object or multi-selected objects and saving the volume or mass data as a part attribute. Because there may be many selections and many pop-up dialogs on screen, some additional functionality was added.

• The screen option to show or hide all the figures will remember the last used setting. Not having these pop-ups appear on screen will drastically speed up the analysis time.

• Volume and Mass for all of the selected parts can now be saved with one click. Note the new screen option to write all Volume and Mass of individual parts.

Volume and Mass only apply to entire part files, so if the part contains more than one object, these are added together to create a total value.

A large quantity of pop-up dialogs can be hidden to speed up the analysis.

Write volume and mass attributes to all of the selected parts at once.
