Zip Cimatron Configuration Files
Access: Open this function from the following location:

Cimatron Control Panel: Select Start > All Programs > Cimatron > Cimatron Control Panel.
Select Utilities > Zip Cimatron Configuration Files.
Zip Cimatron configuration files on your computer. This tool enables you to easily zip the required configuration files from various parts of your Cimatron installation into one file. Using this zip file, you can copy these configuration files to another computer using the Unzip & Install Cimatron Configuration Files tool.
The Zip Cimatron Configuration Files and Unzip & Install Cimatron Configuration Files tools, enable you to easily standardize Cimatron configuration files among different computers.
Note: Zipping and unzipping configuration files can only be performed using the same version of the Cimatron Control Panel.

To zip the configuration files:

InvokeInvoke the Zip Cimatron Configuration Files tool.
The Zip Cimatron Configuration Files dialog, shown above, is displayed.
The upper part of the dialog contains two panes. The left-hand pane lists the configuration files and folders on your computer. The right-hand pane contains the configuration files/folders to be zipped.
The lower part of the dialog contains various fields to assist you in selecting the appropriate configuration files to be zipped.

From the left-hand pane, select the configuration files/folders you wish to zip and press the > button to list these files/folders in the right-hand pane. Alternatively, press the >> button to list all the configuration files/folders in the right-hand pane.
Notice that the right-hand pane already contains a specific configuration file (Materials.exl) together with its full path location (parent folder names). We will now add the Export folder to the list of files to be zipped.
Select the Export folder from the left-hand pane and press the > button.
The Export folder and its contents, together with its full path location (parent folder names), is now listed in the right-hand pane of configuration files to be zipped.

Define the location and file name of where to save the zip file. The default name is Configuration Files.zip.

Press OK
to create the zip file in the defined location.

Configuration Files to Zip |
The right pane contains the configuration files/folders selected to be zipped. If a sub-folder or specific configuration file is selected to be zipped from the left-hand pane, it is displayed here, together with its full path location (parent folder names). |

Add User-Defined Files |
This button enables you to search for any user-defined files that you may want to be included in the zip file. |

Exact Path |
This field displays the folder path of an item selected in the left-hand pane. This informs you of the exact location of the item within the Cimatron installation. |

Search |
Search for a specific item in the left-hand pane. Enter a search string and press the Find Now button. The first occurrence of the search string, if it exists, is highlighted. Press this button again to search for the next occurrence, etc.. |

Open With |
This button enables you to open a file displayed in the left-hand pane, with a program of your choice. This button is available for specific files and for all user-defined files. In other cases, this button is grayed out. |

Sort By |
Sort the contents of the left-hand pane according to criteria in the dropdown list. For example, if All Files is selected, then all the files and folders are displayed in the left-hand pane. If NC is selected, then only the files and folders related to NC are displayed. |

Save Zip File Configuration |
Define the file name and location of where to save the zip file. The default name is Configuration Files.zip. |

Selected File - Description |
This displays the description of items selected in the left-hand pane. Gray colored folders do not have a description. |

Save |
Save the following settings in the dialog:

Approval Buttons
When you have finished, select the appropriate approval button:

Zip the required configuration files into the defined location and zip file name. |

Cancel and exit the dialog. |
