Hole Dimension - Diameter Information Segment

Hole information displayed on a label is segmented into Diameter and Depth information. The order in which this data is presented depends on the drafting standard used for the drawing:

Standard

Description

ANSI or JIS

  • The hole segments are listed in ascending size.

  • A thread is listed after the tap drill.

ISO

  • The hole segments are listed in decreasing size.

  • A thread is listed before the tap drill.

The individual fields in the segment are described below.

Segment information

Description

Prefix

  • If the selected standard is ANSI or JIS, this field will default to display X.

  • For ISO, the field is blank.

Symbol

The dropdown displays a list of special symbols representing the following:

Counterbore and Diameter

Countersink and Diameter

Diameter

Enter a value for the diameter of the hole

Note: Any value set for the Manufacturing Attributes category Tolerance will be applied to the label after the Diameter value (this is not visible in the Hole Dimension dialog).

Precision

Configure the mathematical precision setting used on the label. The system will apply the decimal precision specified in Manufacturing Attributes (if it is set) to values it obtains from the drawing. Manually edited values do not apply this setting.

Postfix

The dropdown options are : CLEAR, DIA - Any value set for the Manufacturing Attributes category Manufacturing technique will be applied to the Diameter Postfix field.

Notes:

  • Words or coded values describing the Customized Hole Tolerance will be applied to the label in this row (this is not visible in the Hole Dimension dialog).

  • Any thread tolerance class (such as 2A, 6H, LH) will also be added to this line.
