Clean Between Passes: Clean Ridges Method

Define which method to use to clean the ridges. This parameter is only displayed if:

A Finish procedure is used.
The High Speed Machining branch is set to either:
1. Basic or
2. Advanced and also if the Round Corners option is selected
Ridges are selected to be machined in the Between Passes Strategy parameter (if either CBP & Ridges, or Ridges Only is selected).

Stretched

Clean ridges by stretching the toolpath.

Rounded Stretched

Clean ridges by stretching and rounding the toolpath. Set the rounding radius in the Round for Stretch parameter.

Trochoidal

Clean ridges by adding trochoidal movements to the toolpath. The original toolpath is unchanged; at a certain point, the toolpath forms trochoidal motions and eventually joins back at the same point on the original toolpath.

When this option is selected, the following parametersfollowing parameters are displayed:

Trochoidal Pitch

Define the pitch of the trochoidal movement.

Lift

In trochoidal motions, when the cutter is moving back, it may be lifted from the material to avoid leaving machining marks.

Define the lift offset of each spiral trochoidal movement from the machining surface.

The lift value is normally small (0.2 - 0.5mm) therefore it is not easy to see it in a static picture.
