Conformal Cooling Design : Cross Section Selection

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Select Mold Design > Cooling > Conformal Cooling Design from the menu bar.
Select Cooling > Conformal Cooling Design from the Mold Design Guide Toolbar.

Create complex conformal cooling channels.

From the Conformal Cooling Design Next Point Parameters dialog, set the shape and dimension of the next created section of the cooling line body.

This dropdown enables you to set the shape and dimension of the next created section of the cooling line body. While in Create Spine Dynamically mode, it applies only to the section that will be created on the next selected point.

For each shape, the relevant parameters and the Area value are displayed.

For example, for an ellipse shape, the A and B parameters are available.

For a drop shape, the A, B and R parameters are available.

ON/OFF toggle buttons control the parameters that may be changed; toggle the buttons as required.
= ON; changes can be applied to the adjacent parameter value.
= OFF; changes cannot be applied to the adjacent parameter value.

The ON/OFF buttons denote which parameter values can be edited and which parameter values are changed as a result; the OFF button denotes a "weak" parameter whose value is determined by the ON button parameter values.

In the examples below, the value of the Area parameter is determined by the ON button parameter values. Click an ON button to toggle it to an OFF button (a weak parameter).


In the example below, the value of parameter A is determined by the ON button parameter values.

The button enables you to select a closed wireframe instead of defining the shape in the dialog.
Select the required approval option in the dialog.
