Contour Labels
Each NC contour has a label attached to the middle point of its first segment by a rubber line.
|
Displaying the Labels
To display these labels, select the Use NC Contour Labels checkbox, under the Contour Deletion, Label Display section of the Contour Manager (as shown above). The Use NC Contour Labels checkbox can be selected or unselected at any time. This only hides or shows the labels.
These labels enable you to check:
-
whether the contour is valid or invalid.
-
whether the values of the NC parameters of an NC contour are equal to the values that are currently displayed in the NC Parameters section of the Contour Manager dialog.
Label Structure
Each label may contain one of the following symbols (see Using the Labels for further clarification):
|
The green check mark signifies that the contour is valid. The Contour Manager dialog displays the number of valid NC contours created. |
|
The = or ≠ sign signifies whether the values of the parameters of the contour are equal to the values that are currently displayed in the NC Parameters section of the Contour Manager dialog. |
|
The order number of the contour. This number is automatically displayed in the contour label for procedures where the contour order number is important. It is not displayed for procedures where the order number is not required. However, you can hide or show the contour order number as required and even change the order number of the contours. |
|
The red exclamation mark signifies that the contour is invalid. For an explanation as to why the contour is invalid, place the cursor on the exclamation mark and wait for the tooltip to display. For example: Cimatron saves invalid NC contours for future modification or use, but they are disregarded for the current procedure. Only valid contours are used to calculate the milling motions. The Contour Manager dialog displays the number of invalid NC contours created. |
The following control buttons appear in all the labels:
|
The X button deletes the specific NC contour. Note: To delete all the contours in a group (eg. all valid contours), Click the appropriate |
|
The yellow button hides the specific label. Note: To hide all the contours in a group (eg. all valid contours), Click the appropriate |
In addition (when NC contour labels are in use), an Expand button is displayed next to the label of a newly created NC contour. This button appears immediately after creating the NC contour, and disappears later. For example:
Press the Expand to button display the contour parameters as they were defined when the contour was created; for example (the Expand button toggles to the Collapse button):
The background of the NC Parameters section of the Contour Manager dialog also changes to yellow to indicate that the NC parameter values of the selected NC contour are being edited; for example:

In addition, the expanded screen parameters provide the same functionality as the parameters in the Contour Manager dialog. For example, the same Cutter Location parameters available in the dialog, are also available in the screen parameters:
