Grid Automatic Scaling

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Select View > Grid & Snap > Grid & Snap from the menu bar, and then select the required option. This method gives you control over all the grid and snap options.
Click the MMB+RMBMMB+RMB(Middle Mouse Button + Right Mouse Button) the graphics area, and then select the required option. This is a quick method to enable you to hide/show the grid and activate/deactivate the snap.

Turn Grid & Snap ON or OFF (for use in the Sketcher). Grid & Snap enables more precision in sketching and positioning elements in the graphics area.

When the grid is displayed, Automatic Scaling adjusts the display of the grid when you zoom in and out. The options are:

Automatic Scaling ON

The grid spacing is automatically adjusted when you zoom in and out (the number of grid lines or points changes depending on the zoom status). This means that:

when you zoom out, the density of the displayed grid lines or points is reduced.
when you zoom in, additional grid lines or points are displayed in the same proportion.

ExampleExample:

In this example, the number of grid lines changes. The number is reduced when zooming out.

Zoom IN	Zoom OUT

Notes:

Zooming in leads to a scenario that no grid is shown.
Zooming out first hides the minor grid lines and then the major grid lines.

Automatic Scaling OFF

The grid spacing is not adjusted when you zoom in and out (the number of grid lines or points remains the same irrespective of the zoom status). This means that:

when you zoom out, the density of the displayed grid lines or points is increased.
when you zoom in, no additional grid lines or points are displayed.

ExampleExample:

In this example, the number of grid lines does not change. The same number is displayed when zooming out.

Notes:

Zooming in leads to a scenario that no grid is shown.
Zooming out hides the grid.
