Hole

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

  • Click the button in the toolbar.

  • Select Solid > Main Tools > Hole from the menu bar.

The Holes function is capable of three actions:

  1. Remove material from an object to create a hole (default).
  2. Add material to an object to easily create a shaft with specific dimensions and features.
  3. Add a new solid object with specific dimensions and features.

Practice: Press the button below to open Cimatron with a practice ELT file similar to that used to create the movie (if the relevant feature already exists in the ELT file, you can either edit it or delete it and create a new feature).


General Interaction

The following is the Feature Guide for Hole .

   Tip: You can open the Feature Guide at any time by right-clicking the mouse in the graphic display area.

Required Step 1 : Pick the points that will be the center points of the created holes.

Required Step 2 : Set the hole parameters, including;

  • whether to Remove material, Add material, or create a New object
  • the hole depth and diameter,
  • the taper angle (for Simple holes)
  • any head parameters (for Counterdrilled, Counterbored, and Countersunk holes)

Optional Step 1 : Change the active object.
