Measurement : Angles

Select the Measuring button or select Analyze > Measurement from the menu bar. From the displayed Measurement dialog click the Angle button.

Cimatron provides various combinations for measuring angles. Examples include the angles between the UCS to Axis, UCS to Plane, Plane to Plane, Axis to Axis, and so on.

Demo: Press the button below to view a short movie demonstrating the function:

The Measurement dialog is displayed. Click the Angle button.

When switching between measurement types, the system automatically displays the last measurement type in the current measuring session. For example, if you use the (Measuring Curvature) option to measure a circle and then select the (Measuring Distance) option, the distance data for the circle is displayed in the Primary Data Area.

Some examples for measuring angles, described in this Help are displayed, as follows:

Measuring Face and Line Angles

Select the required line and face. The system automatically measures and displays the angle between them, as shown below.

The Measurement dialog displays the following information:

Primary Data Area:
The first row indicates
that a line and face were selected using the Angle button.
The other rows display the angles between the planes of the line and face.

Secondary Data Area:
Displays the angle along the XY, XZ and YZ planes.

Advanced Area:
Displays the following defaults:
Reference UCS
, units of measurement and distance type.

When measuring angles the Advanced Area is disabled, apart from the Pick Reference UCS button. Change the reference UCS as required.

Note: Minimum Distance and Maximum Distance are not applicable in this case.

Measuring Three Point Angles

Select three points between which you want to measure the angle. The system automatically measures and displays the angle and radius between the three selected points.
