Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:
-
Select the Preferences button
from the Quick Access Toolbar, or
-
Select Tools > Main Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.
Navigate to Die > Force Calculation > Unbend Operation.
Define the Unbend operation factors for the calculation of forces.
This will affect the result of Die Forces and enables you to have more control over them.
Force Calculation: The force calculation employed depends on the type of operation being calculated. For additional information and to define some of the values used in force calculations, see the Die Force Calculation Preferences.
The Unbend Operation dialog is displayed.
Interaction
-
Set the required Unbend Operation parameters.
The force value is calculate according to the formula:
F = n x σUTS x b x t2 (1 + Sinφ) / 4 x (Ri + Rt+ t)
-
-
n = Correction factor
-
σUTS = Ultimate tensile strength
-
b = bend length
-
t = Stock thickness
-
φ = bend angle
-
Ri = inner bend radius
-
Rt = Punch corner radius
-
|
Set the n and Rt values. The Rt value can either be fixed or a factor of Ri, according to your settings. |
-
Press the appropriate approval option.
