Drafting Preferences > View > Section View

Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:

Select the Preferences button from the Quick Access Toolbar, or
Select Tools > Main Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.

Navigate to Drafting > View > Section View.

Define the section view default settings.

The Section View dialog is displayed.

Interaction

Set the required section view parameters.

View Name

Set the default name of the section view.

Projection

Set the default section projection.

	Section only - projection.
	Section only - true length.
	Section + view - projection.
	Section + view - true length.

Material

Set the default hatch pattern from the dropdown list.

Notes:

Text hatch files used to define the hatch patterns have an LHC extension and are stored in the following folder:

...\ProgramData\Cimatron\Cimatron\2026.0\Data\Hatch Patterns\
The default hatch color is defined in the Preferences > Drafting > General > Colors > Symbols Colors.

Use Partial Sections

Show a partial section in the view. This checkbox enables you to control whether to create a section view of only the area of the section line and not of the entire model (the entire model is not cut, but only the area of the section line [between the points]).

This option is also available from the View Creation dialog (only when the view is a section view or an M-View section); however, the default status is defined in the Preferences in the Section View dialog, shown above. By default, the status is off.

Contour Tolerance

Set the tolerance for finding closed contours.

Section Line Tolerance

Set the Section Line Tolerance.

Select the appropriate approval option.
