MoldDesign Preferences > Name Generator > BOM File Name
Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:
-
Select the Preferences button
from the Quick Access Toolbar, or
-
Select Tools > Main Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.
Navigate to MoldBase > Name Generator > BOM File Name.
Set the options that will define the Bill of Materials (BOM) file name.
Text can be added to the beginning or end of the name.
It is sometimes useful to keep multiple versions of the BOM so that you can track changes on it. You may set the BOM Name Generator to add an index number to the report files created (by changing the No. of Index Digits from zero to a higher number). When doing so, any report you will be creating from your BOM will get an index number in its name, and when you save another report to the same location, it will not overwrite the previous report, but rather raise the index number.
Note that this is part of the Mold Design name generator and requires a Mold Design license to be accessed.
The BOM File Name dialog is displayed.
Interaction
Set the options that will define the name of the BOM file Name.
The Example field displays the structure and content of the BOM file Name based on your definitions.
Examples:
Define the Prefix, Number of Index Digits and Suffix to be added to the BOM file Name. |
|
In the BOM report creation (Export BOM to File) dialog, the 'BOM' in the example file name above, is replaced with the actual file name, as shown below.
Add Time Stamp: When this checkbox is marked , add a time stamp, as a suffix, to the BOM Report file name.
The available options are:
Date & Time
This is the default option.
Date
This either adds a date and time or just a date to the BOM report file name. The Time stamp format for both options comes from your computer. The time stamp does not appear in the Example file name field in the above Preference > BOM File Name dialog; it is added to the file name when the BOM Report is created.
An Add Time Stamp to Report File Name checkbox also appears in the BOM Report (Export BOM to File) dialog (shown above).
The default setting of whether or not to create a time stamp for the BOM Report file name is from the Preference for the first report, and then the last saved setting is kept for each assembly. The default format of the time stamp is from the Preference setting.
Press the appropriate approval option.
