NC Preferences > Additional Coolant Types

Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:

Navigate to NC > Additional Coolant Types.

Define the available coolant types for NC machining. The coolant types and pressure values defined in the Preferences are displayed throughout the system when setting the coolant (for each coolant type that is checked ON in the preference and given a coolant name). Example uses are in the procedure parameter grid for Coolant and Machining Parameters tab of the Cutters & Holders dialog.

In addition to the default 4 coolant types (Flood, Mist, Through, Air), additional coolant types may be added. Multiple coolants may be added for a procedure.

The default pressure may be set for each coolant type.

The Additional Coolant Types dialog is displayed.

Interaction

Set the required coolant types.

Enable Additional Coolants

When this checkbox is OFF , only the existing default coolant types (Flood, Mist, Through, Air) are available.
Default = OFF.

As these are system defaults, they cannot be turned OFF or renamed.

When this checkbox is marked , additional coolant types may be defined.
To enable an additional coolant type, turn ON its adjacent checkbox.

Additional Coolant Type <n>

The additional coolant types are displayed if the Enable Additional Coolants checkbox is ON.

For each additional coolant type whose checkbox is ON, enter the coolant name.

For all coolant types:

First column is a checkbox that specifies if that coolant type is in use.

Second column is coolant identifier.

Third column is free text to be shown in the Machine Parameters of the procedure’s grid.

Fourth column is a checkbox that specifies if a value for pressure is relevant.

Fifth column is the default pressure; shown only if the fourth column is checked. Where relevant, set the required pressure value.

Press the appropriate approval option.

The coolant types and pressure values defined in the Preferences are displayed throughout the system when setting the coolant (for each coolant type that is checked ON in the preference and given a coolant name). For example, the following dialog is displayed from the procedure parameter grid for Coolant and Machining Parameters tab of the Cutters & Holders dialog:

Coolant dialog displayed from the parameter grid:

Coolant dialog displayed from the Cutters & Holders dialog:

The Use Coolant checkbox defines whether coolants should be exported from the Cutters & Holders table to the procedure's parameter grid.

When this checkbox is OFF , the dialog is collapsed and the hidden values are not used:
