The Cimatron
Electrode environment is part of an
integrated solution for mold design and manufacturing, equipped with dedicated
features to automate the electrode design process, including burning faces
selection, electrode design, management, documentation and the manufacture
of surface geometry.
The Electrode module provides the following capabilities:
Fast and accurate
methods to define the burning surfaces. Extract the burning surface
by simply placing and rotating a schematic blank around the desired
burning area. The system automatically selects all the relevant burning
surfaces and trims all relevant surfaces.
Modify the geometry
of the burning surfaces to design the electrode, by using Cimatron's
powerful and flexible hybrid CAD modeling capabilities.
Complete automation
of the electrode design process using templates.
Automation of electrode
documentation.
Simulate the burning
process as well as the 3D trajectory of the burning path to guarantee
gouge and collision-free burning.

and rough offsets) for each electrode and burning path.

inspection drawings for each of the electrodes and allow shop floor
staff to verify electrode dimensions prior to burning.
Easily generate
a setup and burning sheet for each of the electrodes, with corresponding
locations and rotations, as well as a drawing of the complete EDM
process.
