EDM Setup : Component Parameters

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Select Electrode > Tools > EDM Setup from the menu bar.
Select EDM Setup from the Electrode Guide Toolbar.
Right-click a Component , UCS , Folder , Electrode or Location in the Electrode Tree to display the popup menu and then select EDM Setup.

The EDM Setup Component Parameters are displayed as follows (browse the EDM tree within the EDM Setup dialog to display the parameters relevant to the selected item):

When selecting the Component, global parameters are displayed.

Component Name

The name of the component as it appears in the Electrode Tree on the left.

Material

The component material. Select the material type from the dropdown list:

Comment

Enter a comment if required.

Component Box

This displays the size of the bounding box of the component.

General Burn Data

This area displays the following parameters:

Total Electrodes Count

The total number of electrodes in the assembly.

Total Locations Count

The total number of locations in the assembly.

Calculate Electrodes Areas

Press the button to calculate the burning face areas of all the electrodes in the assembly. This operation updates the Burn Faces Area value fields of each electrode in the Electrode dialog page.

The Calculate Electrodes Areas considers the last selected faces, so it works based on the last selection of each electrode.

The calculation is performed automatically and, when finished, a message is displayed that the electrode area calculation is completed.
