Feature Detection uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) when recognizing specific elements in CAD files. The CAD AI components are automatically installed with the rest of Cimatron 2026SP2 if the machine on which Cimatron is installed has an open connection to the internet, but you require a CAD AI add-on license to activate the feature. Contact your Cimatron reseller to obtain the license.
The CAD AI add-on license is activated using the standard licensing capabilities. For more, see Licensing.
If you do not have an active internet connection, you will need to use a separate installer file. Request Cimatron CAD-AI 2026 SP2.exe from your Cimatron reseller.
Install Cimatron 2026 SP2 using the standard installation process.
Run Cimatron CAD-AI 2026 SP2.exe to install the CAD-AI components on top of Cimatron 2026 SP2.
Obtain and activate the CAD-AI add-on license.
The Feature Detection component is now visible in the Part and NC environments.
You can remove just the Feature Detection element without uninstalling the entire Cimatron software.
Open Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Select CAD-AI.
Click Uninstall.
After uninstalling CAD-AI, Cimatron v2026SP2 is still available, but Feature Detection functionality is removed.
Alternatively, uninstall Cimatron 2026 SP2 to remove all Cimatron and CAD-AI–related files from the system.
