Connections Z Lift |
The amount the tool lifts when repositioning to the next cut - used by VoluMill (the VoluMill Pocket and VoluMill Rough procedures). This is the Z height used by VoluMill during repositioning moves between cuts. This repositioning takes place above the already-machined floor. This results in minimal clearance with no tool drag across the floor. The Connections Z Lift value is relative to the current machine layer Z value. This motion is used in combination with the Connection Feed rate appearing in the Machine Parameters Table. This parameter appears in the Tool Trajectory parameter tables of the VoluMill Pocket and VoluMill Rough procedures. Note: When VoluMill completes a cut, it often must reposition for the next cut by moving the tool through an area that has already been machined. Instead of lifting the tool all the way to the Clearance Plane, VoluMill keeps the tool down in the machining area. To prevent dragging the tool across the already-machined floor, the tool lifts by the Connections Z Lift value. To increase efficiency, this move to the next cut is at the highest feedrate possible - the Connection Feed rate. |
