Replace Component : Options and Results

Access: Open this function from the following location:

Select Assembly > Component Operations > Replace Component from the menu bar.

Replace a component with another component.

The component on the right is to be replaced	The replaced component is displayed

Required Step 1

Select one or more components to be replaced.

Select Instances

This switches between options Select Instances / All Instances:

Select Instances	Select instances for replacement. This is the default option.
All Instances	Select all the instances of the same part in the same sub-assembly. Any preselected item will have all its instances selected.

Use the MMB to <exit><exit>(middle mouse button) when finished, or click the Required Step 2 icon in the Feature Guide, to continue to the next step.

Required Step 2

Select the replacement component. The Cimatron Explorer is displayed for component selection. When a component is selected, the next step of the feature is available.

Required Step 3

Set the parameters.

Remove External References

This switches between options Remove External References / Keep External References:

Remove External References	Delete all external references. This is the default option.
Keep External References	Keep any external references based on the same IDs.

Remove Connects

This switches between options Remove Connects / Keep Connects:

Remove Connects	Delete all connections. This is the default option.
Keep Connects	Keep any connections based on the same IDs.

With Cut

This switches between options With Cut / Without Cut and is only displayed if there is a cutting object in the replacing component.

Optional Step 1

The Cut Manager is displayed; select the parts to be cut. This step is only available if a cutting object exists.

Final Step

Click OKOK or ApplyApply in the Feature Guide to complete the function. The component(s) are replaced. Any previous cut operations of the replaced instance behave as if the instance was deleted.
