Add Parting Sub-Assembly
Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:
-
Select Parting > Layout Tools > Add Parting Sub-Assembly from the menu bar.
-
Select Parting Layout Tools > Add Parting Sub-Assembly from the Mold Design Guide Toolbar or Parting Guide Toolbar.
Add an existing parting sub-assembly.
The Cimatron Explorer is displayed enabling you to select the required parting assembly. Once it is selected, it is added to the mold assembly and is marked as a parting sub-assembly in the tree.
Notes:
-
If the selected assembly is not a parting assembly, a warning message is displayed and you are prompted to either cancel or continue with the operation. If you continue, the selected assembly is added as a parting sub-assembly.
-
If the selected assembly does not have any data in it, it will still be added as a parting sub-assembly.
-
If a parting sub-assembly already exists in the assembly, a warning message is displayed and you are prompted to either cancel or continue with the operation. If you continue, the selected assembly is added as a parting sub-assembly and the old one loses the parting sub-assembly status and appears in the tree as an active part.
-
If the main assembly is not marked as a Main Mold Assembly, it is marked as such after the add operation is complete.
-
If you add an assembly that has a work part in it (a part that is marked as a work part), it will also be marked as a work part in the sub-assembly.
-
If you add a work part (that is marked as a work part) to a parting sub-assembly without using this function, it will also be marked as a work part in the sub-assembly.
-
If you add a parting sub-assembly without using this function, it will be considered an active part.
