Center of Geometry

Access: Invoke the Sketcher, define the sketch plane and then invoke this function from the following location:

Create a point at the center of the bounding box of selected entities.

You can create one point for many faces, or multiple points for many faces (one point per selected face).

Create a point at the center of geometry

  1. InvokeInvoke (for more, click Access at the top of this Help topic) the Center of Geometry Sketcher tool.

  2. The Center of Geometry Feature Guide is displayed, together with the following screen parameters:

  1. Pick one or more faces at whose center you wish to create a point and select the parameters:

Single

This is a toggle option Single / Multi:

Single

Create a point at the center of the picked face (if one face was picked) or at the center of geometry of all the picked faces (if more than one face was picked). If one face was picked, the Single/Multi option produces the same result - one point.

A single face is picked.

A point is created at the center of this face. In this case, the Single/Multi option produces the same result - one point.

If numerous faces are picked, the Single option creates one point at the center of geometry of all the picked faces.

Multi

Create a point at the center of each picked face. This is the default option.

If numerous faces are picked, the Multi option creates a point at the center of each of these picked faces.

Add Geometry

This is a toggle option Add Geometry / Add Reference:

Add Geometry

Add the created points as geometry. This is the default option.

Add Reference

Add the created points as reference points.

 

  1. Click OK or Apply from the Feature Guide to complete the function.
