Analyze Conformal Cooling Circuit

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

  • Select Mold Design > Cooling > Analyze Conformal Cooling Circuit from the menu bar.

  • Select Cooling > Analyze Conformal Cooling Circuit from the Mold Design Guide Toolbar.

Analyze and mark faces belonging to conformal cooling circuitscooling circuits (A sequence of cooling channels that creates "one water body", including pockets of nipples, baffles bores, and O-ring grooves.) and cooling items. Conformal cooling circuits are those that are conformal to the shape of the product.

This function analyzes and marks different conformal cooling circuits in different colors to check their integrity and also mark specific portions of cooling circuits that have designated roles. For example, an analysis recognizes different types of cooling items (plugs, nipples, etc.) and marks them in different colors.

Running the Analyze Cooling Items analysis marks all the cooling item faces according to the defined color code: Red for plugs, cyan for nipples, and green for baffles.

Pick a face from a cooling channel and the system marks in blue all the faces that belong to this circuit.

In this example, all circuits are marked.

General Interaction

Tip: You can open the Feature Guide at any time by right-clicking the mouse in the graphic display area.

Required Step 1 : Pick the cooling channels to be marked.

Optional Step 1 : Set the offset value to run a visual analysis on the offset of the cooling circuit to see if it is penetrating any other faces.
