Expressions in Dimensions

Any simple mathematical expression may be entered for a dimension in the Sketcher Dimension dialog, using arithmetic symbols. This option is useful when creating symmetrical entities. In the example below the length of the dimensioned line was defined as an expression:

In this case, only the result is kept, i.e. the calculated result of the simple expression will be shown in the dimension field the next time the dialog is invoked.

In this case, only the result is kept (the number 37.5 will be shown in the dimension field the next time the dialog is opened).

Note: If related values in an expression cannot be found, the expression is then referred to as rerouted. To help you rebuild this relationship, the affected dimension is highlighted in red when shown on screen.
