Pocket Selection: Corners Plunge

In the Corners Plunge procedure, when selecting geometry to define pockets, in addition to the Pocket Selection dialog, screen parameters are displayed to provide additional control over the types of geometry to be defined as pockets for a specific operation.

The following parameters are displayed:

Pocket round corner axes are shown as selected in the right image. The round corners of these axes will be considered for the current operation.

Parameters

Pockets Selection / Axes Selection

Define the pocket selection mode from the dropdown list. First select the pockets (Pockets Selection option) to be considered for the operation and then, if required, use the Axes Selection option to skip specific axes.

Pockets Selection

Select the pocket(s) whose round corners are to be considered for the operation. Once a pocket is selected, the system displays the axes lines of any round corners of the selected pockets.
Example:Example:

Once a pocket is selected (shown in the left column in the above examples), the system displays the axes lines of any round corners of the selected pockets.

This is the default option.

Axes Selection

Define which axes of the round corners of the pockets are to be included in the operation.
When this option is selected, the following parameters are displayed:

Select All Axes

Select all the round corner axes of pockets.
Selected axes are represented as a solid line.
Unselected axes are represented as a dashed line.
Example:Example:

All the displayed axes are shown as selected - to be included in the current operation.

Selected axes may become unselected by picking them. The image on the right shows one axis has been unselected.

Reset All Axes

Unselect all the round corner axes of pockets.
Selected axes are represented as a solid line.
Unselected axes are represented as a dashed line.
Example:Example:

All the displayed axes are shown as unselected - none will be included in the current operation.

Unselected axes may become selected by picking them. The image on the right shows one axis has been selected.

Ignore if Diameter is Smaller than

Set threshold values, beyond which the axes are not displayed and their relevant round corners are not milled.

Ignore axes if the diameter of the round corners of pockets are smaller or larger than the defined value.
Ignored axes are not displayed and their round corners are not milled.
Example:Example:

Threshold values define which axes are skipped from the operation. The image on the left shows all the axes as selected. The image on the right shows that some of the axes were beyond the set threshold values and, as such, are skipped; they are not displayed and their round corners are not milled.

Ignore if Diameter is Larger than
