Motion Editor > Gouge Check: Options and Results

Select the procedure (from the Process Manager) and do one of the following:

  • Press the button from the toolbar.

  • Choose NC Utilities > Motion Editor > Motion Editor from the menu bar.

  • Right-click on the procedure and select NC Guide Commands > Motion Editor from the popup menu.

Once in the Motion Editor, select Gouge Check from the Motion Editor Guide.

The Motion Editor Gouge Check tool enables you to check the toolpath for gouges.

Note: In some cases, it is more efficient to use motion editing on the procedure rather than re-executing it.

Required Step 1 :

Pick the toolpath motions to be checked. If necessary, use the Global Filter / Navigator to hide or show portions of the toolpath.

The following select options are displayed:

In the example below, the Free Selection option is used:

  1. In this example all the motions are selected by.

  1. Press <exit><exit>(middle mouse button) to proceed to the next step.

Optional Step 1

Pick faces to be removed from the gouge check selection.

Gouge Check Results

Once the motions and the surfaces to be included in the Gouge Check have been defined, the system performs a gouge check of the selected toolpath, including the shank and holder. Each time Apply is pressed, the system rechecks for gouging on the selected toolpath.

Once the gouge check is complete, one of the following messages is displayed (in a dialog and also the Output Pane):

  1. If no gouges were detected:

  1. If gouges were detected, a message is displayed informing you of the number of gouges detected in the toolpath and prompting you to use the Navigator to evaluate the gouge check results.

In this case, click Yes to view the gouges in the Navigator in the Advanced Motion Filter - Verification stage.

Use the display bulbs to hide and show the Verification items in the Navigator tree.
