Update Remaining Stock

This parameter enables you to define whether or not to update the remaining stock information.

In Finish procedures (Finish, Cleanup and Pencil), select the required option from the following dropdown menu. (The default for updating the stock can be defined in the NC Preferences > Procedure Parameter Defaults).

Depending on the NC procedure, one or more of these options may be available.

Do not update the remaining stock with the current procedure motions. The current procedure has no influence on the procedures that follow.

When deciding not to update the remaining stock information, this enables you to:

calculate any procedure without influencing the stock information.
avoid recalculating remaining stock information if the generated tool motions have no influence on it.
avoid recalculating the procedures below the current procedure, if there was a change in the tool motions (if the generated tool motions have no influence on the remaining stock information).

No is the default option.

Accurate / Yes

Update the remaining stock with the current procedure motions. This updates the Remaining Stock process which influences the input of the next procedures.

If the procedure is recalculated, this causes an R symbol down stream to procedures considering the remaining stock.

Notes for Finish procedures:

If the parameter in the procedure is unchecked, it is set to "No".
If the parameter in the procedure is checked, it is set according to the preference.
When switching from a Finish to a non-Finish procedure, the following parameter conversion occurs:
"No" to "No"
"Accurate" to "Yes"
When switching from a non-Finish to a Finish procedure, the following parameter conversion occurs:
"No" to "No"
"Yes" to "Accurate", according to the preference
In the Process Manager, the "Update Stock" column for Finish procedures, is shown as checked when the "Accurate" option is selected.
