Simulation Options : File Tab

Access: Invoke the Machine or Material Removal Simulator and select Simulation Options from the Simulator Guide.

Control all the parameters and behavior of the simulation mechanism.

The File tab enables you to perform various file-related operations.

This tab contains the following parameters:

Save Current Stock

Save the current state of the stock as an STL file. This STL file can be then imported to Cimatron as geometry, or be used as an external file in a Stock procedure in an NC file.

Save Simulation Report

Save a simulation report as a TXT file.

Save Deviations and Safety

Save the deviation table values and colors, as well as the safety offset values of the simulator.

The Simulator Default Values dialog is displayed showing relevant values; see below. The values and colors are copied from the relevant tables in the simulator. Edit the values, using the same rules as in the relevant tables in the simulator. If edited, the original table is not changed.

The data is saved in a template file; the file location is defined in the Preferences.

The machining simulation deviation table values and colors are saved in a template file with the suffix DEV and stored in the following default folder:

...\ProgramData\Cimatron\Cimatron\2026.0\Data\Nc\Deviation

Load Deviations and Safety

Load the saved deviation table values and colors, as well as the safety offset values of the simulator.

The file browser opens at the location defined in the Preferences. Select a file with the suffix DEV.

The Simulator Default Values dialog is displayed showing relevant values, in read only mode; see below.

Units

Set the units of measurement.
This parameter is displayed when simulating with a machine (when the Use Machine checkbox is ON in the Machining Simulation dialog and a machine has been selected).

Load Deviations and Safety

The Simulator Default Values dialog is displayed when saving or loading the deviation table values and colors, as well as the safety offset values of the simulator.

This dialog shows the current relevant values.

Saving:
When saving, the dialog can be edited.
On clicking , the file browser is opened for selecting the file name.

Loading:
When loading, the dialog is displayed in read only mode.
On clicking , the values and colors are copied to the relevant tables in the simulator.

Dialog Buttons

The following buttons are in the dialog
