Modifying the BoM

Access: Open this function from one of the following locations:

Click the button in the toolbar.
Select Symbols > Tables > BOM from the menu bar.
Select Drafting Symbols > BOM on the popup menu (right-click the graphics area).

A configuration file determines which attributes appear in the BOM file.
The BOM_Template.csv file is the BOM Configuration File; a resource file which is used to define the relevant attributes to be displayed in the Automatic BOM created from an Assembly. Usage instructions and column descriptions are included in the CSV file.

System resource files are located in the following folder:

...\ProgramData\Cimatron\Cimatron\2026.0\Data\Resource

English resource files are stored in the English sub-folder under Resource.

A BOM can be modified using the following methods:

Attribute modifications that are done to a part using the Properties Pane of the Cimatron Explorer, will be updated automatically within the BoM when loading the Drafting file.

The Standard Number attribute is an exception, as this attribute affects the BOM topology (the number of rows in a Purchase List may change due to a change in this attribute). Therefore, if the Standard Number attribute was changed through the Cimatron Explorer, the Assembly file should be opened first in order to update the BoM in the drawing.

It is highly recommended to modify the Standard Number attribute (as well as other BoM-related attributes) through the BOM in the Assembly file.
In the Assembly environment, the following additional operations are available from the BOM Table Editor (for the All Parts option only):
- Exclude from BOM - exclude a component from the BoM.
- Include in BOM - include a component (that was previously excluded) from the BoM.

When modifying a BoM, selecting a row on the BOM Table also highlights the appropriate component of each view, as well as the relevant row in the BOM Table Editor dialog.
