Access: Invoke this function from one of the following locations:
Click
the
button in the toolbar.
Select Wireframe > Datum > Mid Plane from the menu bar.
Create a datum plane between two other planes (or datum faces). This tool also supports spline faces (in this case the average plane is taken into account).
The following is the Feature Guide for Mid Plane.

Pick two planar faces between which to define the datum plane, as shown below.

When the second face is marked as selected, the First / Second toggle button is displayed. This button toggles between the alternative mid planes (displayed in black) that can be created between the two selected planes. Select the required option.

The Second button previews the second mid plane that can be created between the two selected planes. |

When you are finished, press OK
or Apply
in the Feature Guide to complete the function.
The datum plane now appears, with drag handles for resizing.

Note: The default size of plane drag handles can be set by editing the Plane Grab Handle size value in the General Preferences > Datum Planes.
When completed, the Plane-Mid Plane feature will appear in the Feature Tree as follows:
