NC Operation Manager Table

The NC Operation Manager holds a large amount of information, but you can customize the display to show the items that are more important and useful to the task at hand.

Table Columns

The NC Operation Manager holds a large amount of information, but you can customize the display to show the items that are more important and useful to the task at hand. Right-click the column header row of the NC Operation Manager window to display the Column Visibility popup menu. Use this menu to select which columns are displayed out of the many columns available, each offering different information about the NC procedures on the list.

Note: Text items that are dimmed cannot be changed from the Operation Manager.

The table below shows some of the column heading names appearing in the Operation Manager (the popup menu names are shown in parenthesis), and the column description with links to additional explanations.

Cutter

The name of the cutter as recorded in the Cutter Library.

  

Cutter Diameter

The diameter of the cutter

Tolerance

Maximum permitted milling deviation from the contour

  

Part Offset (group 1)

The offset from the Part Surface at which milling will be performed

  

Clearance height

The default clearance height of electrodes.

  

Down Step (= Vertical Step)

Vertical distance between cutting layers, used for machining and for splitting between horizontal and vertical areas

  

Side Step (= Horiz. Step)

The 2D size of the step between centers of the cutter in adjacent passes.

 

 

VC

Cutting Speed. The maximum rate that the work piece surface and cutting tool pass each other at the point of contact (Tangential velocity of the cutting edge).

  

FZ

Milling procedure only. The maximum thickness of chip material that each cutting edge of a tool can remove with one pass (also named Chip Load).

  

Feed

The rate that either the work piece or cutting tool changes in position during the length of the cut.

  

Spin

The number of revolutions that the cutting tool does during one minute.

  

Color

The color can be changed. Once changed they can be reset to their default colors.

  

Machining time

The calculated time the process will take
