Contour Milling > 5X Trimming

Cut surface edges after a vacuum forming process, deep drawn sheet metal parts and composite laminated parts.

Create the 5X Trimming procedure

See Creating a Procedure for a general explanation.

1. For Technology, choose Contour Milling as the main selection, and 5X Trimming as the subselection.

2. Choose the appropriate cutter.

3. Create a Set of the faces that you will be using for the 5X Trimming function. Hide all the other entities.

4. Define the part surfaces and contours.

Note: The start point of the selection should be the same as the start point of the machining.

5. Define the following Motion Parameters:

   • Approach & Retract

   • Clearance & UCS

   • Boundary Settings

   • Tolerance & Surf. Offset

   • Tool Trajectory

   • User Parameters

6. If required, manually Add/Delete/Change the local control points (Local Modification).

7. Define the Machine Parameters.

8. When finished, you can choose from the following Work Mode Dialog buttons:

   • Save & Close to suspend

   • Save & Calculate to execute

   • Save Original

   • Cancel
