Geodesic is an  application that creates real 3D stepover on any geometry shape, including undercut areas. One or several guide curves can be added for better fitting of the motions to the geometry shape. The cutting can be done in three or five axes continuous motions.

As usual with 5X-Productions and 5X-Applications procedures, there are many parameters but not all are relevant for each case. This exercise will walk you through some of the main parameters and show the difference in the results.

1. Load the Geodesic.elt file.
   

2. Start a new 5X Applications > Geodesic procedure.
   

3. BALL-6 is the only defined cutter. It will be used by default.
   

4. Click the Access button to open the Geodesic Control Panel.
