Trim vs Boolean

1. Select Solid > Cut.

2. Select the bounded face as the object to be trimmed.

3. Ensure the As Trim and Remove Cutting Object options are selected.

4. ExitExit (middle mouse button) to accept this object.
   

5. Select the box as the cutting object and click OK in the Feature Guide.
   

   A trim face has been created.

6. Right-click on the Cut feature in the Features Tree and select Edit FeatureEdit Feature.

   

7. Toggle the As Trim option to As Boolean.

8. Click OK in the Feature Guide. The following is displayed:
   

9. Edit the Cut feature once more, select the Invert Active Object option, and then click OK in the Feature Guide.
