The grid and snap parameter and zoom settings are available in a number of environmentsnumber of environments(to see the list of environments, press the Access button at the top of this Help topic) . However, when the grid is activated in the Assembly environment, there are cases where the grid and snap functionality is changed. These changes are either designed to improve the user interaction in Assembly. These cases are detailed below.

Grid in the Assembly Environment

When the grid is activated in the Assembly environment, additional options are displayed when using the Add Component > Place on Face function, if the Snap On option is selected. These additional options are used to define the position of snap points relative to the grid.

When these snap positioning options are displayed in the Assembly function, the equivalent options that are normally available in Grid & Snap are grayed out and cannot be used. Specifically, the following options are grayed out: the Snap and Snap=Grid options in the Grid & Snap dropdown list, and also the Snap related options in the Grid Settings dialog.
