This consists of a group of functions designed to create data within Cimatron, to be used later when generating quoting data.

The functions in the guide are listed in a logical order to represent the operations required to guide you through the initial die quote process (within Cimatron), from start to finish.

Cimatron also offers a specialized streamlined version of these tools for users who only require Die Quoting capability in a product called DieQuote2025. For more, speak to your local representative.

Cimatron's Quoting Tools help die makers with the quoting process. The tools streamline quoting for diemakers, calculating cost estimates and to create the quote. The tools incorporate a report generator to produce the final quote.

Die Quoting in Cimatron

Using the Quoting Preference setup defaults together with the Die Quote functions within Cimatron, enables the quoting application to accurately reflect project costs as there is full data integration between the quoting tool and work undertaken in Cimatron.

The following functions are available in this group:

Assign Trimming Punch

Assign trimming punch attributes to faces. These punches are subsequently trimmed using the Trimming Punches function.

Components

Define plates, components, and inserts.

Component Drilling

Define the required drilling machining depth and time by calculating the total required drilling depth on defined holes, based on Diameter groups.

Component Surface Milling

Define the required surface milling machining area and time according to whether plates or inserts require milling, the required milling strategies (rough or finish), and the stock material (of the selected component).

Component Volume Milling

Define the required volume milling machining and time according to whether plates or inserts require milling, the required milling strategies (rough or finish), and the stock material (of the selected component).

Component Wire-EDM

Define the required Wire-EDM machining time by calculating the total required length for Wire-EDM machining based on selected predefined contours.

Forming Punches

Define forming and stamping punches. These Punches are to be milled and are therefore priced according to the required milling strategies of rough and finish, and by the required stock material.

Generate Report

Generate a report to produce the final quote.

Save BOM Data

Save the BOM purchase list and general data in the Cimatron main assembly ELT file.

Trimming Punches

Define trimming and piercing punches. These punches are cut by Wire-EDM and are, therefore, priced according to the contour that needs to be cut and the required stock material.
