Chip Load Reduction

With this Optimizer option, if a large chip load on the cutter is detected, the cutter motions can be modified so that this load is reduced.

The chip load is measured according to the side stepside step(size of the step between centers of the cutter in adjacent passes) and down stepdown step(vertical distance between cutting layers). If these parameters are not defined, the system will use defaults based upon cutter data.

There are two options for controlling the chip load on the cutter:

Reduce Feed:

Decrease or increase the feed value.

Create Down Steps:

Divide a problematic area into a number of down steps not to exceed a certain limit.
