Use Clearance

This controls the cutter motion at the beginning and end of the procedure.

Use Clearance = OFF
Use Clearance = ON

 

Use Clearance = OFF

When this checkbox is OFF , the following occur:

  1. The 1st TP node is at the beginning of the 1st approach and the last TP node is at the end of the last retract.

  2. No motions to or from the Clearance Plane are performed.

  3. The Clearance Plane parameter is not displayed.

Use Clearance = OFF is recommended when using the Connection procedure between procedures.

 

Use Clearance = ON

When this checkbox is marked , the following occur:

  1. Motions begin and end at the Clearance Plane - see below.

  2. The Clearance Plane parameter is displayed.

Use Clearance = ON is not recommended when using the Connection procedure between procedures.

 

Note: In order to make sure that the clearance parameter of the next procedure does not contradict the clearance of the Connection procedure, unselect the Use Clearance parameter from the next procedure. See the Examples at the bottom of this topic.

Clearance Plane

Enter the Z value representing the home position of the cutter (the cutter location at the beginning of the toolpath). This clearance plane will be used as the default Clear height value within a region during a procedure.

This parameter is set when creating a toolpath. It can also be set in the Clearance Plane section of the Procedure Parameter Table.

Example of an undesired connection resulting from a contradiction in the Clearance of the Connection procedure and that of the next procedure. This may happen if the Use Clearance parameter is selected in the following procedure.
