Clearance & UCS Parameters

For a parameter description, click on a parameter in the dialog image below.

Depending on the procedure and your parameter settings, some parameters may not be available or other parameters may be displayed.

Important: See Containment Clearance Height (below) for information on how to define the height of the containment.

Example Clearance & UCS table

Specific parameters are displayed for certain procedures:

Notes:

  • In the Rough, Finish, Pencil, Cleanup and 5X Trimming procedures, the system checks that the procedure's clearance value is above the part. The system compares the procedure clearance value to MAXPZ. If clearance is too low, an appropriate warning message is displayed. This capability is available if the MAXPZ options are set in the Preferences - NC > Default Values.

  • In the Automated Drill, Rough, Finish, Pencil and Cleanup procedures, if the Internal Clearance = Optimized, the procedure always knows the amount of the remaining stock and takes this into account, together with a safety distance, to move over the stock.

Connection

In Connection procedures, the following parameters are displayed:

General Notes about Parameter Tables

Containment Clearance Height

When Containment Clearance is referred to, this is also applicable to Layers / Pocket / Containment / Z Top / Z Bottom as they are all calculated together.

For a parameter description, click on a parameter in the dialog image below.

The Containment is displayed according to the Internal Clearance. If you select Absolute, that is the height that the Containment is displayed. If you select Optimized, the internal clearance is calculated internally from the bounding box of the stock/surfaces plus a safety factor.

The containment is recalculated in the following cases:

  • When Internal Clearance = Absolute and the value of Absolute Z is changed.

  • Changing the Internal Clearance from Absolute to Optimized.

  • When Internal Clearance = Optimized and the selected surfaces are changed.

Guided Cleanup and Multi Axes Guided Cleanup

In the Guided Cleanup and Multi Axes Guided Cleanup procedures, the following parameters are displayed:
