Piercing Faces
: Editing
-
Right-click on the Piercing Face name in the Feature Tree.
-
In the popup submenu that appears, select Edit Feature. The Feature Guide will appear, automatically open to the last required step. You now return to the same situation in which you picked the location of the actual piercing.
This enables you to edit piercing faces not only in the selected part, but all faces created in the same procedure in all relevant parts. -
While editing, piercing faces are automatically updated according to updated hole contours.
This means that:-
If contours are removed, relevant faces are removed as well (in the selected and preceding forming shapes).
-
If additional forming shapes are added and more holes with same edge ID now exist, these holes are also included. Piercing and capping faces are not imported to the new part. The piercing design can be extended to the new part by invoking analysis (to create the suitable contours in the new part) and then editing the various piercing faces features.
-
In edit mode, you can only select or deselect additional contours from the same hole group.
-
You can also pick a different location for piercing faces in the 2nd step. If necessary, new features are created in additional forming shapes (if the piercing face creation is moved forward, or are removed from the selected forming shape (if the piercing face creation is moved backwards).
-
If you delete piercing faces (by selecting Delete Feature from the Feature Tree popup submenu), this deletes the piercing faces not only in the selected part, but all faces created in the same procedure in all relevant parts.
-
If you delete a part that owns a piercing face feature, a warning message is displayed requiring your confirmation.
-
-
Click OKOK or ApplyApply in the Feature Guide to complete the function.
